Jaguars are back to back CHAMPIONS!!


Bethel wins title with convincing win over Rodriguez.

Jaguars quarterback Bob Guillory started the scoring with a 1-yard sneak. He then threw a 33-yard scoring strike to Walter Roquemore.

Minutes later Sevohn Greer ran 20 yards untouched up the middle to make it 19-0 with 11 minutes, 6 seconds left in the first half.

The Jaguars, who gained 419 yards on the night,  iced the game with an 82-yard, 10-play march capped by Guillory's 14-yard keeper around the right side.



Jags dominate league selections

Bethel High School's Marvin Jones was named the Defensive Player of the Year.
Jones, Brandon Harris and Marvin Monterose made  the offensive line.  Bobby Guillory was named as the quarterback.
Bethel's Marlon Butler and Quinnell Willingham joined Benicia's Devan Wilson as the first-team running backs.  
Roy Williams made the team as a defensive back. Williams lead the league in interceptions with 6.
Sevohn Greer and Kevin McNeal made the team as linebackers and Martel Underwood was named as first-team defensive linemen.

Second team selections included WR Walter Roquemore and LB Isacc Martinez.  Honorable Mention picks were (LB) KB Henry, (C )Jason Manalang, and (TE )Arthur Mandap.

Jags snubbed!
Bethel receiver Walter Roquemore was snubbed by the selection committee.  Desmond Thomas of Vallejo was selected 1st team over Roquemore even though Roquemore beat him in receptions 39-24, yards 645-305, average per reception 16.5-12.7, and touchdown receptions 4-2.  Steve Johnson of Rodriguez was pick over Guillory as offensive player of the year despite Guillory's 17 rushing TDs and 4 passing TDs.
